These beautifully made Baker model bass tuning machines are made to my design here in England. In my working life I have fitted many sets of machines to basses, both as replacements on older instruments, for five string conversions and for new instruments alike. Too frequently I have had to re machine and improve that that was available. Finally I decided to design a machine head in the best of the English tradition and without any issues, to be truly adaptable not only in the cog shaft length but also in the length of the worm gear assembly. It is possible to regulate how far the worm assembly protrudes from the edge of the peg box, for both practical and aesthetic reasons with these machines.  The machines can be used equally well with or without brass plates and are available as 4 or 5 string sets.  The machines are straight forward to fit, the only special tools required are a cello peg reamer and a M6 tap and die both of which I can supply. Naturally  I offer a fitting service too.   As it has become more difficult to source good quality brass screws of the size required I supply them with the machines at no extra cost. Brass plates can be made to order if a pattern is supplied.
