Maker & Restorer of Violins, Violas, Cellos & Double Basses.

Double Basses For Sale

I have been making musical instruments for over 30 years. I started with cellos and progressed to violas. In the mid eighties whilst working with Roger Dawson in Rotherhithe, London I added double basses to  my luthier/maker repertoire. Unfortunately I cannot quote an exact number as the records were lost  in France in a flood.   I resumed the making of double basses with a new model after the great London luthiers of the early 19th Century, the likes of Kennedy, Fendt, Lott and Hart. Production, if it can be called that is limited to two or three instruments a year as my work as a repairer and restorer keeps me well occupied. Both 5 string and left handed versions can be made to order. Any of the stock instruments can be converted to left handed playing if required, please contact me for details.

I have recently added Jay Haide double basses to my range as they provide a nicely made and an atractive instrument priced neatly between the very cheapest instruments on the market and my own. Please contact me to make an appointment should you wish to try out any of the  instruments, for further details click on an item below.
