My fine handmade cellos are based on the Stradivari model. All instruments are made entirely from scratch by myself using high quality English Sycamore for the back, ribs and head and neck and a variety of spruces and firs for the fronts that have been bought in some years in advance. As with the double basses I make, production is fairly limited as I perfer to concentrate on quality rather than quanity. I offer a choice of tail pieces, end pins and strings to suit a players requirements at no extra cost. Carbon fibre cases can be supplied with any instrument. Customers have included cellists from such orchestras as The Philhamonia,The Royal Philhamonic,The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, The Royal Opera Covent Garden, BBC Symphony, The Stuggart Opera as well as many freelance players. Students from such colleges as The Royal Academy of Music, The Guildhall school of Music and The Northern School of Music have also purchased my instruments. The basic dimensions can be found below, it can be seen that my cellos are solidly in the center of what is considered a full size instrument of today but still very managerble for the smaller player.
