Martyn J. Bailey Luthier Ltd. is a company offering a complete repair and restoration service for violins, violas, cellos and double basses; whether you are a student, amateur or professional player; collector, museum or the trade, we offer the same high standards of work and service. No job is too small, any too large; we undertake work from minor adjustments to complete rebuilds (please see our projects page). A limited number of new cellos are normally made each year. Please note that we are specialists in instruments therefore have nothing to do with bows and that we are not dealers. Meetings are made by appointment only.

Estimates are calculated promptly, without charge and are not subject to change, thus we ensure our clients full knowledge of the final cost before commencement of work. Where possible we are willing to indicate approximate costs from photos or email attachments. Completion dates for smaller jobs are normally given to the day, larger repairs quoted in weeks, and very large restorations will be quoted in months, at all times we give realistic completion dates, agreed with our clients and kept to by ourselves.
